A Celebration of Community Involvement And Skateboarding

Albany’s gnarly downhill skate park, The Snake Run, is the world’s oldest community funded skate park. It’s a pilgrimage site for skateboarders from around the world. February 2016 marks the 40th anniversary of its opening, when American skating legend Russ Howell first rode its winding curves.

To celebrate this iconic site, our opening event in the Great Southern is a thrilling collision of skateboarding, dance, parkour and street art all driven by an extraordinary soundscape.

The Snake Run Project celebrates one of the world’s oldest skate parks, the Snake Run in Albany, and its local legends with an event combining cutting edge contemporary performance, freestyle skating, bands and more.

SNAKE RUN - Sat 13 Feb 5.30pm
Highly-skilled skateboarding meets contemporary dance in a dynamic performance that explores the relationship between the snake, skin and the history of the Snake Run site. This high-octane event features surprising moments of beauty amongst the daring and unexpected.

INKING THE SKIN
As part of this urban art project, the designs of more than 100 people are laid onto the concrete sides of the Snake Run. Each design represents its creator’s connection to this legendary place – the skin lost, the fear conquered and the love found.

We are Rounding-Up the top pro and amateur freestyle skateboarders from around the world
to compete at the fifth annual WORLD FREESTYLE ROUND-UP for a chance to win part of the $10,000 in Prize Money.
The four day event will be held at the CLOVERDALE RODEO & COUNTRY FAIR,
just 25 miles east of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from May, 20 to 23, 2016.
Over 77,000 people attended the annual Rodeo and Fair last year
making this an ideal high profile location for this contest.

Over 40 of the top amateur and pro freestyle skaters from 11 different countries
have confirmed that they will be at this years World Freestyle Round-Up Skateboard Championships.

September 24th Philly Freestyle 7

The 7th Annual Philly Freestyle Championships is a flatland skateboard contest.
It bringins some of the best talent in the area,
throughout the US and even international talent!

We will also be cross-promoting an 8-mile longboard event
that will be happening on Sunday that benefits Carve 4 Cancer.

We are trying to get some of the long boarders to enter the Freestyle as well!

Thinking of making it a 3-day weekend starting on Friday as a get together skate.
Saturday the contest and Sunday the cruising benefit!

Hi Skaters,

Registration for the 2017 World Freestyle Round-Up Skateboard Championships has begun. The four day event will be held at the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair, just 25 miles east of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from May 19 to 22, 2017. And just as last year, the Rodeo is putting up $10,000 in Prize Money, along with prizes from sponsors for the amateur skaters, and trophies to be awarded to the winners. Top Amateur and Pro Freestyle skaters wishing to compete in the World Freestyle Round-Up must first fill out the following Registration Form, found on the contest website, and submit a short video of them skating freestyle.
