Canada has long been one of the leaders in organizing World Class Skateboard Competitions largely due to the efforts of Monty Little.
Monty began organizing skateboard safety demonstrations on a national level back in the mid-1970's.
He later organized National Skateboard Competitions and promoted the 1986 World's Fair Skateboard Contest which was called the TRANSWORLD SKATEBOARD CHAMPIONSHIPS. The contest was held at EXPO 86 and had 20 Amateur teams of five skaters plus pros from 16 different countries.
The Cloverdale World Freestyle Roundup brought both Amateur and Professional skateboarders from around the world to compete for $10,000 in prize money.
There were twelve amateurs and twenty-two professionals competing over a three day event.
The competition format was a quick one-minute run each for three runs.
Five judges scored each skater and the high and low scores were discarded.
The three remaining scores were totalled and the highest run determined the final placement.
Preliminaries were held on Friday, Semi-Finals were held on Saturday, Finals were held on Sunday, and the Best Trick and 360 Spin-Off events were held on Monday along with the presentation of Awards.
The 2013 World Freestyle Roundup Contest ran smoothly without a single glitch or complaint.
Thanks Monty for your never ending commitment to the Sport of Skateboarding!
Thanks Dan for all your efforts in creating the best Spreadsheet Judging System ever.
Left-brained people are the only ones in their right minds.
