Christians Should Be Allowed to Speak, Too

Freedom! Tolerance! Diversity! We want freedom to express our opinions. We want tolerance for different perspectives on life. We believe diversity is good and important.

That is, for everyone except Christians.

Society can force values on Christians, but Christians can’t be allowed to express contradictory opinions. Atheists, Hindus, Muslims, etc., are accepted, but Christians can’t be tolerated. Although the Christian symbol, the cross, has been in public life in the Western world (Europe and America) for centuries, unbelievers want it banned from public display. Examples: the Mojave cross and the WTC cross.

As demonstrated most graphically in California’s educational law, the powerful want to teach children, starting in kindergarten, about homosexuality and no disagreement is allowed.

We want diversity of ideas, but we don’t want anything presented in our public schools that would question or contradict the Evolutionary Hypothesis no matter how scientifically accurate it may be.

That is the official view of activist Atheists and homosexuals.

Historically, Christianity has been responsible for hospitals, universities, literacy and education for the masses, Capitalism and Free-Enterprise, representative government, abolition of slavery, modern science, the elevation of women, benevolence and charity; the good Samaritan ethic, high regard for human life, the civilizing of many barbarian and primitive cultures, and the codifying and setting to writing of many of the world’s languages.

Today Christians are still the leaders in the educational, medical, and agricultural advancement of developing countries. Christians locally have sent people, money, and goods to many needy areas of the world (e.g. Hands of Hope).

Atheist and homosexual activists today ignore history and even present-day facts about Christian value to society. They talk tolerance and diversity for themselves but deny it for others. If Christians (and others) don’t stand up for our rights soon, they will be lost.

Red Skelton's Pledge Of Allegiance was first introduced on "The Red Skelton Show" on CBS Television, January 14, 1969 It has since been twice read into the Congressional Record of The United States and has received numerous Awards.

I remember a teacher that I had. Now I only went through the seventh grade. I left home when I was ten years old because I was hungry. It's true. I worked in the summer and I'd go to school in the winter. But I had this one teacher who was the principal of the Harrison School in Vinsance, Indiana. To me, this was the greatest teacher; a real sage, of my time anyhow. He had such wisdom. And we were all reciting "The Pledge Of Allegiance" one day. And he walked over, this little old teacher, Mr. Laswell was his name. Mr. Laswell

And he says, "I've been listening to you boys and girls recite "The Pledge Of Allegiance" all semester. And it seems as though it's becoming monotonous to you. If I may, may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word?

I - Me, an individual, a committee of one.

Pledge - Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.

Allegiance - My love and my devotion.

To The Flag - Our standard, "Old Glory." A symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there's respect. Because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts "Freedom is everybody's job."

United - That means that we have all come together.

States - Individual communities that have united into forty-eight great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries yet united to a common purpose. And that's love for country.

And To The Republic - Republic, a state in which soverign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people. And it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.

For Which It Stands

One Nation - One nation, meaning 'so blessed by God'.

Indivisible - Incapable of being divided.

With Liberty - Which is freedom; the right of power to live one's own life without threats, fear or some sort of retaliation.

And Justice - The principal or qualities of dealing fairly with others.

For All - For all, which means boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.

And now boys and girls, let me hear you recite "The Pledge Of Allegiance."

I pledge allegiance to the flag of "The United States of America" and to the republic for which it stands. One nation, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country. And two words have been added to "The Pledge Of Allegiance" - "under God." Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer and that would be eliminated from schools too?

Area man wants Bible taught in schools

Education: Retired teacher says curriculum would be academic study, not religious; opponents disagree.

TREASURE VALLEY -- A Southwest Idaho man wants to allow public schools to teach about the Bible. But opponents say study of the Bible would be hard to separate from teaching religion.

Chuck Seldon, 77, has collected at least 20 signatures on a ballot initiative for the next general election. The initiative aims to get around a provision of the Idaho Consitution and "allow that elective Bible course curricula, taught as an academic study rather than devotional material, may be offered in the public school systems."

"The people of Idaho are not going to put up with the fact that their Constitution does not allow them to do it," Seldon said about teaching the Bible in schools. "It's a book and can be taught without getting involved with devotional or religious rhetoric."

Among those who have signed the initiative so far, Seldon said he's collected some Idaho lawmakers' support, including Rep. Robert Schaefer, R Nampa.

"I don't see that as trying to inflict any specific religion on anybody," Schaefer said. "It's mostly direction from the prime supervisor to tell us how to get by better in life."

"There might be some people that object that don't have a good relationship or rapport with the one who set everything up in the beginning," Schaefer added.

Bible in school initiative unneeded

Summary: Districts already have authority to implement academic courses on Bible; anything more than that violates Constitution.

Chuck Seldon, a 77-year-old Southwest Idaho resident, is gathering signatures to get a ballot initiative for the next general election that would "allow that elective Bible course curricula, taught as an academic study rather than devotional material, may be offered in the public school systems."

Simply put, he doesn't need to. It's something that can be done already.

There is nothing in Idaho law that prevents public school districts from approving courses which use the Bible as literature or history, as long as those courses don't cross the line into doctrine. That sounds exactly like what Seldon is asking for, does it not?

And it's something hundreds of school districts across the country have already done. According to the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools, 475 American school districts in 38 states have approved Bible curricula.

If local residents want to have an elective course that teaches the Bible from a historical context, they can from a lobbying group and petition their local school board. Ditto if they want a more encompassing "history of the world's religins" type of class. But given our economic doldrums and the cost it would take to create such courses, financial prudence would dictate otherwise, for the time being.

If parents want their children to have an education that does get into doctrine, they have options. They can enroll the kids in private Christian schools or home school them. If cost or work schedules make those options impossible, they can always teach their kids about the Bible on evenings and weekends at home, and at Sunday School on Sunday mornings.

If they're concerned tht something their children would hear in a public school would conflict with or undermine their faith, they can probably make arrangements with the school to have the child removed from the room during those lessons. Some parents do this with sex-education classes, for example.

The Idaho Constitution states "no sectarian or religious tenets or doctrines shall ever be taught in public schools." That's the way it should be in a pluralistic society. Seldon's proposal is either unnecessary or it's a back-door attempt to circumvent the Constitution. Either way, it should be shot down.

A Response to the View Opinion in the Press Tribune opposing voluntary Bible classes in public schools.

The opening paragraph is correct. The second assumption is incorrect. Idaho law does not allow a complete study of the Bible. Teachers presently are only allowed to choose sections that have been approved by education leaders who do not want interference with their lifestyles. For example: the first line of the first book of the Bible is not allowed. Check it out.

I encourage them to check out our Web site where they will find that what we are recommending is completely in line with our Founding Fathers and the majority of our presidents, starting with George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Gen. Eisenhower, F.D.R., Ronald Reagan, both Presidents Bush and President Obama. I believe President Obama has some understanding of the “shining city on a hill” concept that President Reagan talked about and “basic human rights” which he talked about in his G20 speeches recently in Europe. All of us need a much deeper understanding of the Bible, the greatest book ever written. Proof of that is the fact that it has outsold every other book ever written.

The second best -selling book is “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Rick Warren, which is based on the Bible. I also recommend “The 5000 Year Leap,” by W. Cleon Skousen , also a Bible-based book.

After the members of the board and managing editor of the Press Tribune have done their home work, have been open-minded journalists, checked out the above listed books, and have checked my Web site www.ourgodlyamericanheritage.com, I will be glad to sit down with them in an atmosphere of mutual respect and talk to them about my project and why it is so important for us at this time in our history.

I believe this is a critical time for us for four reasons.
  1. Our broken schools. Our public schools are failing. I left the public schools in 1970 along with five other public school teachers, because the public schools were going in the wrong direction.


  2. Broken government. Our government is failing. According to Newt Gingrich “The System is Broken.” Read some of his books in the public library.


  3. Broken capitalism. By now everyone realizes that greed has caused our industries, banks and Wall St. to fail.


  4. Broken homes. Over 50% of our children are from broken homes. So, isn’t it time we go back to square one, look at what is happening and re-evaluate our goals and values?

Time For Bible To Be Returned To Public Education

The cover story on the April 2, 2007 edition of Time magazine is about the demonstrable need to return the study of the Bible to America's public schools. When a magazine that tilts as far to the left as Time recognizes the problems caused by biblical illiteracy, perhaps it's time everyone in America, including educators in Idaho, did something about it.

Idaho's 114 school districts already can offer the literary study of the Bible as an elective, but to my knowledge, none do so. Georgia last year became the first state in the union to offer funding for high school electives on the Old and New Testaments using the Bible as the core text. There is no reason Idaho can't become the second.

There are currently two curricula available for use in public schools, one developed by a graduate of Chuck Colson's Wilberforce mentoring program. Currently 460 school districts in 37 states are using one curriculum or the other. Polling data indicates that over 60% of Americans favor teaching about the Bible in public education settings.

The chair of Boston University's religion department has written a new book, "Religious Literacy," that makes the case for Bible-literacy courses. Beginning in the 1970s, he points out, "religion rushed into the public square. What purpose could it possibly serve for citizens to be ignorant of all that?"

It's a simple fact that a working knowledge of the Bible is necessary for anyone to be a full-fledged, well-rounded, thoroughly-educated American. The writer points out that there are some 1,300 allusions to Scripture in the Shakespearean canon, and numerous references even in Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea" to the passion of Christ.

Biblical ignorance makes many key elements of American history impossible to understand. For instance, the phrase "the shining city on the hill," first uttered by a Puritan leader and re-popularized by Ronald Reagan is actually drawn from the teaching of Jesus as found in the gospel of Matthew.

Martin Luther King, Jr. deliberately emulated the Old Testament prophet Amos when he spoke of "Justice rolling down like waters" in his "I Have a Dream" speech.

As Time's religion editor points out, "The Bible is the most influential book ever written. Not only is the Bible the best-selling book of all time, it is the best-selling book of the year every year."

Even the American Jewish Congress supports Bible classes in public schools. "Take creationism," says a representative. "Unless you are literate in the first two chapters of Genesis, you have no idea what people are fighting about."

Yet even though nearly two-thirds of Americans believe the Bible holds the answers to "all or most of life's basic questions," pollster George Gallup has labeled the U.S. a "nation of biblical illiterates." Only half of American adults know the name of even one of the four gospels, and most cannot name the first book in the Bible.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no constitutional impediment to the literary and historical study of the Bible in the public system of education. In a pivotal 1948 Supreme Court Case, Justice Robert Jackson said, in a concurring opinion, "One can hardly respect the system of education that would leave the student wholly ignorant of the currents of religious thought that move the world." To put all references to God off limits in the classroom, he went on, would leave public education "in shreds."

In 1963, the majority opinion of the Court in another case explicitly declared, "Nothing we have said here indicates that such study of the Bible or of religion, when presented objectively as part of a secular program of education, may not be effected consistently with the First Amendment."

Even the general counsel for the American Jewish Congress agrees: "It is beyond question that it is possible to teach a course about the Bible that is constitutional."

The author of the Time story concludes, "In the end, what is required in teaching about the Bible in our public schools is patriotism: a belief that we live in a nation that understands the wisdom of its Constitution clearly enough to allow the most important book in its history to remain vibrantly accessible for everyone."

Returning The Study Of The Bible To Public Schools

In a one-woman argument for returning the study of the Bible to public schools - as a necessary part of any thorough education - Barbara Walters admitted on the TV talk show, "The View," that she herself lives in virtually total ignorance of the Bible. The portion of one show was dedicated to a recently published article in which a professor at Boston University contends that we must, in the name of cultural, historical, and literary literacy, return the study of the Bible to public school classrooms. This professor points out, for instance, that there are over 1,300 allusions to the Bible in Shakespeare alone, all of which are incomprehensible to anyone unfamiliar with the dominant themes of the Scripture. I have Good news for Bible believing Americans! God is still on the throne and we win in the end.

I listen to many great leaders in our country, who, first of all, know our American history, second, they learn from it, then they study world history and compare it to Bible History, Literature and Art. They are all basically saying the same thing. America must wake up to its spiritual heritage, and many of these same spiritual leaders are also saying that they are beginning to see the sparks of a third or fourth Great Awakening in our country. That is Good news!

Rev. Craft spoke here in Boise back in April on Morality and Freedom “America’s dynamic duo,” and he asked the question “Does morality really matter?” Media and special interest groups often tell us two lies they want us to believe.

Lie #1: “We must preserve separation of Church and State.”
Lie #2: “Morality and performance in office are separate matters.”

Our Founding Fathers had a great deal to say on these issues.

In Independence Hall where our Founding Fathers first declared an ndependent nation and later created a Republic, John Adams said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

It was interesting to watch and listen to C-Span about a month ago. Our Ex-President Clinton was speaking to a large group of reporters and Democrats in Washington, D.C. He pointed his finger at them and said, “If you don’t think morals are important to the American people, you better think again!” Possibly, just maybe, he learned something in office. There is hope for him and for our country.

I just returned from Texas where I visited my grandchildren and family. While I was there, I checked into the progress of “Putting the Bible back into the Public Schools” project and they are making great progress! They are up from fifty school districts to fifty five that are teaching the Bible in public schools as History, Literature or Art. Praise the Lord.

I don't believe in Santa Claus,

I don't agree with Darwin,
but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of Evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered
because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game.

So what's the big deal?
It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire Book of Acts.
They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him
to grant safety to the players on the field
and the fans going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue.
Yes, and this is the United States of America and Canada, countries founded on Christian principles.
According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1.
So what would you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem,
I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad,
I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China,
I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.



And I wouldn't be offended.
It wouldn't bother me one bit.
When in Rome .......

But what about the atheists?
Is another argument.

What about them?
Nobody is asking them to be baptized.
We're not going to pass the collection plate.
Just humour us for 30 seconds.
If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs.
Go to the bathroom.
Visit the concession stand.
Call your lawyer!
Unfortunately, one or two will make that call.
One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do.
I don't think a short prayer at a football game
is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek
while our courts strip us of all our rights.
Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating,
to pray before we go to sleep.
Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing.
Now a handful of people and their lawyers
are telling us to cease praying.
God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long.
It's time we tell that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want.

It is time that the majority rules!

It's time we tell them,
"You don't have to pray;
you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance;
you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honour Him.
That is your right, and we will honour your right;
but by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away.

We are fighting back, and we WILL WIN!"
God bless us one and all...
Especially those who denounce Him,
God bless America and Canada,
despite all our faults,
We are still the greatest nation of all.
God bless our service men who are fighting
to protect our right to pray and worship God.



Let's make 2011 the year the silent majority is heard
and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions.

Abortion and World War II Holocaust Have Much In Common

OPINION, Nov. 11, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- This week the Anti-Defamation League issued a press release in which they condemned the film "180" for comparing abortion to the Holocaust, calling the movie "cynical and perverse."

Gary McCullough, director of Christian Newswire, disagrees with the Anti-Defamation League and submits the following:

In 1992 I visited three death camps in Poland. On the walls of a building in Stuthoff and several building in Auschwitz, hang the portraits of over a hundred of the millions of victims of the gas chambers. At both death camps, you can gaze upon piles of shoes, thousands of pairs of shoes, in all sizes. And literal bales of women's hair, stacked like some many bales of hay. And next to the hair-bales are bolts of fabric that had been manufactured from the hair shaved from the heads of thousands of dead, murdered young women. And suitcases, piled to the ceiling, marked with white paint, the name, year of birth, and nationality of the owner. Many of the suitcases were of children; five, six, and seven years old. Another room was full of eye glasses, the next, brushes and combs, the next room, stacked wall to wall, floor to ceiling, were prosthesis all every sort, legs and arms, and wheel-chairs and crutches.

This collection, this shrine to "Never-Again," displayed what was but a fraction of the booty gathered from the killing of millions of mothers, sisters and brothers, husbands and grandparents and children over the years we now call the Holocaust. These were the items that had not yet been packaged for shipment. These glasses, shoes, clothing, etc. were to be shipped to people in need, taken from useless non-persons, to go to the sustenance of the higher race. A guard, would pick through the belongings of the still warm non-person for something to send home to his family; perhaps a needed pair of pants, or a Sunday's-best dress that his bride would wear about town with him on his next leave, a pair of glasses that would be of use to his mother, she has needed a better pair for oh so long.

Of all these exhibits screaming of man's inhumanity toward man, one moved me to tears, a small pile of children's toys.

As our tour group exited the building, I approached our guide. Why didn't someone stop this? Why did the townspeople blow the place up? Why didn't our allied forces obliterate the death camps?

Her response was one well thought out. As a guide at Auschwitz for seven years, she is asked that most every day. She stated, "Many people for years, much wiser than I, have debated that exact question. Survivors of this camp have said they would have gladly given their lives to see this place destroyed and the killing stopped. One thing that most all agree on though, is in regard to the three sets of railroad tracks coming to the camp. They should have been destroyed. They knew where the killing was being done. They had the ability, and even if the tracks would have been rebuilt in a matter of days, thousands of lives would have been saved, thousands of lives.

Immediately I responded, "You know, that's what we do." Up to this point, she did not know that the entire group touring Auschwitz that day was part of a group in the USA called Operation Rescue. I went on to explain to her that when we "rescue," when we hold a sit-in in front of an abortion clinic, we "take out the tracks." We don't destroy the clinic/death-camp, we don't kill the butchers. But for a short period of time we keep the non-persons/the babies, from getting to the death-camp. We buy a little time for the innocent.

Two weeks later I was back in the US participating in a peaceful protest, blocking the doors of an abortion clinic. While hand-cuffed, from the back of a paddy-wagon, I tried to explain our actions to a group of police officers. While these officers were arresting and carrying away one limp rescuer after another I told them of my recent trip to the death-camps of Auschwitz, Birkenau and Stuthoff.

Dear Lord, I remember how angry I was, and still am over that pile of children's toys at Auschwitz. How these harmless steps we were taking this morning don't seem to be a match to the violent death awaiting our holocaust victims.

How could even a brain-washed Nazi death-camp guard take a toy off the still warm body of a dead child and give it to his child?! In that sentence, God answered my question with His question:

"How is it that you, my son, washed by me, give your children toys taken from the children killed at the abortion death-camps?"

My crushing anger was now, full-weight on me. How can this be, Lord? I am about to go to jail...again. I am doing all I know to do!

"For each child that is killed; his toys will instead be enjoyed by your children."

Like it or not I have to face the fact that each day I find something more important to do than saving an unborn child's life, I have chosen that my job, my comforts, my wife's clothing and yes, even my children's toys were more important than the life of an unborn child.

There is no "feel-good" end to this story; no secret solution. We have gone too far down the road to Auschwitz. We have a thousand Dachaus, Treblinkas, and Auschwitz in America, advertising in the yellow-pages.

As the death-camps reared their ugly heads during World War II some of America's citizens recognized the threat and rose to the challenge. They didn't wait for our nation to enter the war, they went to Canada, enlisted, and went to fight Hitler and the Nazi War Machine. However, most of the nation waited for an official declaration of war.

But when war was declared, every able-bodied, clear thinking man entered the fight. If a young man was not serving his country, his courage and manhood was called into question. Men and women came from the countryside to the cities to work in the factories as part of the war effort. Factories that produced automobiles and appliances re-tooled to make items needed to win a war. Housewives conserved everything from nylons to rubber-bands to help beat the Nazis. And still the ashes of millions of burned bodies testified that we did too little, too late.

When will the time has come for us to do our duty before God and country in regard to the holocaust of abortion? When will it be time for every able-bodied, clear-thinking Christian to enter the fight? If a young man is not saving the lives of innocent children, is his courage and manhood called into question?

As in Nehemiah, chapter three, everyone from merchants to shepherds set aside their usual job for a time, to rebuild the wall. Every Christian ministry, God ordained and set apart for a particular need, must re-tool to win this war. To continue to do business as usual while there are death-camps operating down the street is an insult to our Creator.

And still the ashes of millions of burned bodies will testify that we did too little, too late.

It was common practice to keep a few Jews, Poles, and others alive for six months. They would be forced to write home and lie to their friends or relatives about the conditions at Auschwitz. After the letter was written they would be taken to the gas chamber and killed like the others, then cremated.

Hanging on the wall today in Auschwitz is a fragment of an actual uncensored letter from Monika Dombke, born 1920, to her mother. That letter reads:

"Electric wires, high and double
Won't let you Mom - you won't see your daughter
So don't believe those censored letters of mine
cause the truth is different; but don't cry, Mom.

And if you would like to seek out your child's trace
Don't ask anyone, don't knock anywhere:
look for the ashes in the fields of Auschwitz
It will be there. But don't cry - enough of bitterness here.

And if you would like to discover your child's trace

The U.S. Constitution is the SUPREME LAW of the land. When the people no longer keep that law, a crisis will hurl us into violent anarchy and destructive chaos, so prophesied our Founding Fathers. Unless our Constitution is based on biblical religion and biblical morality, it will not work, so stated the Founding Fathers.

Time magazine recently wrote a cover article about how the U.S. Constitution was under siege, but not in a crisis. I totally disagree. The Constitution is on its deathbed. But almost nobody understands or knows why.

Will we allow the Founding Fathers to tell us why?

Christianity today has become an empty ritual. What does America's Christianity do to stop us from flooding the world with family-destroying pornography? No other nation even comes close to what we produce.

What does that say about our religion and private morality? Anybody who understands the Bible knows how it condemns such sick, moral depravity!

New York was the sixth state to approve homosexual "marriage." Marriage is a type of the firstfruits marrying Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:7). That is the beginning of all mankind being led into the Family of God forever. That is also the gospel, the good news of the coming Family or Kingdom of God.

Those who promote homosexual "marriage" try to redefine what marriage and family are. It is an abominable attempt to destroy the heart of the biblical message of good news for all mankind! (Request our free booklets "Why Marriage! Soon Obsolete?" and "The God Family Vision" for more information.)

The main cause of homosexuality is the breakdown of the family. Instead of changing broken families, we approve of homosexual "marriages" and add to our heinous sins.

Where are the Christian leaders today who will even label homosexuality a sin? The Bible is Jesus Christ in print. A true Christian is one who follows Christ. The Bible labels homosexuality an abomination.

Where are our leaders who will speak out against family breakdown, pornography, U.S. drug usage and the crime it causes? Our drug addicition has turned Mexico into a war zone.

The Constitution won't work for such biblically immoral people! Who is willing to hear what our own Founding Fathers prophesied? All political parties are guilty of rejecting their warning.

The War Against the Constitution

The Greek Empire tried to establish the rule of law. It failed and the empire collapsed. The Roman Empire also tied to build a society based on law. It was unable to do so, and it too fell. Many other empires experienced the same failure.

The famous British historian Paul Johnson wrote an article titled "No Law Without Order, No Freedom Without Law." It was printed in the Sunday Telegraph, Dec. 26, 1999. In it he wrote, "The rule of law, as distinct from the rule of a person, or class of people, and as opposed to the rule of force, is an abstract, sophisticated concept. It is mighty difficult to achieve. But until it is achieved, and established in the public mind with such vehemence that masses of individuals are prepared to die to uphold it, no other form of progress can be regarded as secure. The Greeks had tried to establish the rule of law but failed. The Romans had succeeded under their republic but Caesar and his successors had destroyed it. The essence of the rule of law is its impersonality, omnipotence and ubiquity. It is the same law for everyone, everywhere -- kings, emperors, high priests, the state itself, are subject to it. If exceptions are made, the rule of law begins to collapse -- that was the grand lesson on antiquity" (emphasis added throughout).

Yes, "that was the grand lesson" of history. But have we learned that lesson? Failure to do so means we pay the supreme sacrifice: loss of our republic.

The continual problem of man has been his failure to learn from history.

Are "masses of individuals ... prepared to die" to uphold America's rule of law? Mr Johnson states that this is our only security!

Do you feel secure?

Our Forefather's Goal

Early immigrants who came to this land were often persecuted in the countries they left. They usually lacked religious freedom.

"Both in Virginia and in New England to the north, the colonists were determined, God-feearing men," Mr. Johnson wrote, "often in search of a religious toleration denied them at home, who brought their families and were anxious to farm and establish permanent settlements. They put political and religious freedom before riches ... Thus took shape the economic dynamo that eventually became the United States -- an experiment designed to establish the rule of God on Earth ..." (ibid).

What a goal. They planned to establish the rule of God on Earth! That means they had the goal of each person keeping the Ten Commandments of God -- the basis of all righteous law.

How many Americans are willing to face that reality? Not many. Because then we would have to admit that we often fight not to establish law, but to promote lawlessness!

Consider some statements from the Founding Fathers. In his first inaugural, President George Washington said, "The foundations of our national policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality." And in his famous Farewell Address, he said, "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indespensable supports." Without religion and morality, Washington knew the American experiment was doomed to fail. John Adams backed him up: "Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand." Religion and morality are firmly rooted in Divine Law.

In 1954, Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren wrote, "I believe the entire Bill of Rights came into being because of the knowledge our forefathers had of the Bible and their belief in it."

What political or religious leaders would make such statements as these men did? Even the politicians who established our republic were more spiritual than most of our religious leaders today!

The Constitution is the foundation of our republic. And the Ten Commandments were, in many ways, the foundation of the Constitution. Our forefathers believed that if we didn't keep God's Ten Commandments, our republic would collapse!

It was much harder for our Founding Fathers to spill streams of blood winning our freedom, and to create and establish our Constitutional Law, than it is for us just to maintain it! So we ought to respect our Founding Fathers above ourselves. But we are too vain and arrogant to see how profoundly strong they were and how pathetically shallow and weak we are.

Noble Constitution

The Constitution was based to a great extent on God's law. That is why I believe is is the noblest document ever written by a government of this world.

What a rare document it is. Our forefathers had the awesome opportunity to establish the rule of God in the wealthiest country ever. So they established a Constitution to protect all of us from the extremems of human reason. Tyrants, unjust judges and biased leaders were controlled by this law.

Did your Founding Fathers know that the Bible interprets itself? To some extent, I believe they did. And they probably patterned the Constitution after the Bible, in that sense. The Constitution is a document that interprets itself probably better than any book or document, other than the Bible.

We see indescribable confusion about the Bible today. Why? Because people won't let it interpret itself!

We received some foundational direction from Britain's Magna Carta. But Britain has no constitution.

Our persecuted forefathers wanted their protection spelled out in detail. They had suffered intensely at the hands of tyrants. Such tribulation deepens a people's understanding about the value of freedom.

Will we have to experience indescribable tribulation before we can appreciate our freedom, which is given to us by the Rule of Law?

Seeking Lawlessness

When Robert Bork was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Ronald Reagan, it created a firestorm in Congress, and he failed to get confirmed. Shortly thereafter, he wrote The "Tempting of America", which I believe is the best book about constitutional law in a century -- perhaps ever.

The founders of the Constitution put in place the walls, roof and beams of our Constitution, as Mr. Bork said. The judges" purpose is to preserve the architectural features -- adding only filigree or ornamental work. Instead, the lawyers and judges are changing the very structure of our representative democracy.

The Constitution is being altered dramatically. And it is the foundation of our republic! We are experiencing a constitutional earthquake, and most of our people don't even know it -- yet. Your future is being changed for you, and often you have no input.

This process is sure to lead to anarchy! That is why you and I should be deeply concerned.

Why did our Founding Fathers work so hard to establish the Constitution? Because it was to be the supreme law of the land.

"A well-known Harvard law professor," Mr. Bork wrote, "turned to me with some exasperation and said, "Your notion that the Constitution is in some sense law must rest upon an obscure philosophic principle with which I am unfamiliar."

But notice what the Constitution itself states: "This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, any thing in the Constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding."

"The senators and representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office of public trust under the United States."

A Harvard law professor is actually stating that the Constitution is not even law! That view comes from our most prestigious university. The vary fact that he would even make that statment shows that we are already getting into extreme lawlessness!

Cal Thomas wrote in the March 8, 2000, Washington Times, "In the final Democratic debate before the Super Tuesday election, Vice President Al Gore responded to a question about the type of Supreme Court justices he as president would select: 'I would look for justices of the Supreme Court who understand that our Constitution is a living and breathing document, that it was intended by our founders to be interpreted in the light of the constantly evolving experience of the American people.' ...

"Mr. Gore's view of the Constitution, shared by most political liberals, is one of the most dangerous philosophies of our time. It establishes a class of philosopher kings who determine the rights of the people and shreds the Constitution as a document that conforms people to unchanging principles that promote their own and the general welfare.

"A 'living' Constitution, notes constitutional attorney John Whitehead, means the Constitution is 'up for grabs,' and it becomes whatever the justices decide, not the people through their elected representatives ....

"The founders never intended the courts to be supreme. Their intention was that the Law, rooted in objective and unchanging truth, would be preeminent."

Law scholars today don't believe the Constitution was "rooted in objective and unchanging truth" -- that is, they don't believe our founders established the rule of law. But that's just what the founders did. And now most lawyers and judges reject their foundational work.

Douglas Cox worked in the Office of Legal Counsel for Ronald Reagan and Geoge Bush. Here is what he stated in the Wall Street Journal, Feb. 2, 1998: "The entire justice system is predicated on the theory that witnesses will tell the truth. Permitting a culture of lying to take root in the justice system would ultimately destroy the system."

He believes a lying culture would ultimately destroy our justice system! (Or has is already?)

Our views today reflect a deadly degeneration into lawlessness!

Why Religion and Morality

In 1776, the year Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, John Adams wrote to his cousin, "It is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand." There it is again. Why did the Founding Fathers keep poiniting back to these fundamental building blocks? Adams himself answered that question in 1798, while serving as president: "Our Constitution was made ONLY for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Alexix de Tocqueville's 19th-century observations on the American republic answer this critical question. After touring America for two years in the early 1830's, he returned home to France and wrote his political classic, "Democracy in America." Like the Founding Fathers, Tocqueville acknowledged that religion and morality were indispensable to the maintenance of the American republic. Why indispensable? He said that while the constitutional law of liberty allowed Americans complete freedom to do as they pleased, religion prevented them from doing that which was immoral and unjust. In short, Tocqueville surmised, liberty could not be governed apart from religious faith, lest there be anarchy.

Without the moral restrictions of a higher spiritual law, the liberty afforded Americans in the Constitution would be abused. George Washington knew that! So did the rest of the Founding Fathers. That's why they kept harping on religion and morality. They did not want to see the United States of America self-destruct.

The success of our Constitution does not depend on which political party we belong to -- it depends on how biblically spiritual we are!

America Today

Today, Americans have departed from the ideals of our forefathers. We reason that religion and morality are nice, but certainly not necessary for the overall wellbeing of the nation. We have been led to falsely assume that private morality and public duty are separate issues. George Washington would have been appalled by such reasoning. And he was the father of our nation.

Times have certainly changed in the United States of America. Imagine a fornicator or adulterer being publicly ridiculed because of his sin. For that matter, imagine a public official even calling those acts sinful. Does it seem old-fashioned? It wasn't 200 years ago.

Let's look at what our first two presidents believed about the family. "In short, the founders' generation believed that men's and women's interests were complementary, and they saw marriage as the divinely ordained, naturally good way to organize life. George Washington had started his presidency by pointing out that public life must be grounded on private morality. His successor, John Adams, devoted husband of Abigail, was even more specific: the 'foundation of national morality must be laid in private families.' He went on to say that children learn the meaning of morality, religion, and respect for law from the habitual fidelity of their parents to one another" (Angelo Codevilla, The Character of Nations).

This is the only way to remove the sin of homosexuality!

When Americans go from proclaiming that a free society can only exist when founded on private morality to thinking that character just doesn't matter, it is time to ask some hard questions about the future of this nation.

The American people's response is a fightening portent of our nation's future. If we fail to understand, that doesn't make the bad news go away.

The Truth About the Health Care Bill

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated. If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.

The irony is that the Congress doesn't have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn't work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law. It doesn't stop there though.

The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people; The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution." If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

Air Force Removes ‘God’ From Logo


A Virginia lawmaker is calling on the Air Force to reverse a decision to remove a Latin reference to “God” from a logo after an atheist group complained.

Rep. Randy Forbes, (R-VA), said the Air Force removed the logo several weeks ago from the Rapid Capabilities Office. The patch included a line written in Latin that read, “Doing God’s Work with Other People’s Money.”

But after the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers complained, Forbes said the line was rewritten in Latin to read, “Doing Miracles with Other People’s Money.”

Forbes, along with a bi-partisan group of 35 lawmakers, sent a letter to Air Force Secretary Michael Donley and Air Force Chief of Staff Norton Schwartz expressing concern over the decision to remove a non-religious reference to God.

“It is most egregious,” Forbes told Fox News. “The Air Force is taking the tone that you can’t even use the word ‘God.’”

Forbes said his office contacted the Air Force and officials there confirmed that the logo had been changed after the atheist group complained.

A spokesman for the Air Force told Fox News they had received the letter and would investigate the claims.

Forbes said the removal of “God” is a “bridge too far in terms of the rights of men and women who serve in our services and their ability to express their faith.”

“But the significance of this is what the Air Force is saying with this move – that the word ‘God’ – whether it has any reference to faith or not, can’t be used in the Air Force,” Forbes said.

He said the incident is one of several in recent months that have caused him to wonder if the military is cleansing itself of religious references.

“It’s a very dangerous course to take,” he said.

“I am concerned that the RCO capitulated to pressure from an outside group that consistently seeks to remove references to God and faith in our military,” he said. ‘The RCO’s action to modify the logo sets a dangerous precedent that all references to God, regardless of context, must be removed from the military.”

We hear so often about Muslims as victims of abuse in the West and combatants in the Arab Spring's fight against tyranny. But, in fact, a wholly different kind of war is underway -- an unrecognized battle costing thousands of lives. Christians are being killed in the Islamic world because of their religion. It is a rising genocide that ought to provoke global alarm.

The portrayal of Muslims as victims or heroes is at best partially accurate. In recent years the violent oppression of Christian minorities has become the norm in Muslim-majority nations stretching from West Africa and the Middle East to South Asia and Oceania. In some countries it is governments and their agents that have burned churches and imprisoned parishioners. In others, rebel groups and vigilantes have taken matters into their own hands, murdering Christians and driving them from regions where their roots go back centuries.

The media's reticence on the subject no doubt has several sources. One may be fear of provoking additional violence. Another is most likely the influence of lobbying groups such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation -- a kind of United Nations of Islam centered in Saudi Arabia -- and the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Over the past decade, these and similar groups have been remarkably successful in persuading leading public figures and journalists in the West to think of each and every example of perceived anti-Muslim discrimination as an expression of a systematic and sinister derangement called "Islamaphobia"-- a term that is meant to elicit the same moral disapproval as xenophobia or homophobia.

But a fair-minded assessment of recent events and trends leads to the conclusion that the scale and severity of Islamophobia pales in comparison with the bloody Christophobia currently coursing through Musilm-majority nations from one end of the globe to the other. The conspiracy of silence surrounding this violent expression of religious intolerance has to stop. Nothing less than the fate of Christianity -- and ultimately of all religious minorities -- in the Islamic world is at stake.

From blasphemy laws to brutal murders to bombings to mutilations and the burning of holy sites, Christians in so many nations live in fear. In Nigeria many have suffered all of these forms of persecution. The nation has the largest Christian minority (40 percent) in proportion to its population (160 million) of any majority-Muslim country. For years, Muslims and Christians in Nigeria have lived on the edge of civil war. Islamist radicals provoke much if not most of the tension. The newest such organization is an outfit that calls itself Boko Haram, which means "Western education is sacrilege." Its aim is to establish Sharia in Nigeria. To this end it has stated that it will kill all Christians in the country.

In the month of January 2012 alone, Boko Haram was responsible for 54 deaths. In 2011 its members killed at least 510 people and burned down or destroyed more than 350 churches in 10 northern states. They use guns, gasoline bombs, and even machetes, shouting "Allahum akbar" ("God is great") while launching attacks on unsuspecting citizens. They have attacked churches, a Christmas Day gathering (killing 42 Catholics), beer parlors, a town hall, beauty salons, and banks. They have so far focused on killing Christian clerics, politicians, students, policemen, and soldiers, as well as Muslim clerics who condemn their mayhem. While they started out by using crude methods like hit-and-run assassinations from the back of motorbikes in 2009, the latest AP reports indicate that the group's recent attacks show a new level of potency and sophistication.

The Christophobia that has plagued Sudan for years takes a very different form. The authoritarian government of the Sunni Muslim north of the country has for decades tormented Christian and animist minorities in the south. What has often been described as a civil war is in practice the Sudanese government's sustained persecution of religious minorities. This persecution culminated in the infamous genocide in Darfur that began in 2003. Even though Sudan's Muslim president, Omar al-Bashir, has been indicted by the International Criminal Court in the Hague, which charged him with three counts of genocide, and despite the euphoria that greeted the semi-independence he granted to South Sudan in July of last year, the violence has not ended. In South Korofan, Christians are still subjected to aerial bombardment, targeted killings, the kidnapping of children, and other atrocities. Reports from the United Nations indicate that between 53,000 and 75,000 innocent civilians have been displaced from their residences and that houses and buildings have been looted and destroyed.

Both kinds of persecution -- undertaken by extragovernmental groups as well as by agents of the state -- have come together. in Egypt in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. On Oct. 9 of last year in the Maspero area of Cairo, Coptic Christians (who make up roughly 11 percent of Egypt's population of 81 million) marched in protest against a wave of attacks by Islamists -- including church burnings, rapes, mutilations, and murders -- that followed the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak's dictatorship. During the protest, Egyptian security forces drove their trucks into the crowd and fired on protesters, crushing and killing at least 24 and wounding more than 300 people. By the end of the year more than 200,000 Copts had fled their homes in anticipation of more attacks. With Islamists poised to gain much greater power in the wake of recent elections, their fears appear to be justified.

Egypt is not the only Arab country that seems bent on wiping out its Christian minority. Since 2003 more than 900 Iraqi Christians (most of them Assyrians) have been killed by terrorist violence in Baghdad alone, and 70 churches have been burned, according to the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA). Thousands of Iraqi Christians have fled as a result of violence directed specifically at them, reducing the number of Christians in the country to fewer than half a million from just over a million before 2003. AINA understandably describes this as an "incipient genocide or ethnic cleansing of Assyrians in Iraq.

The 2.8 million Christians who live in Pakistan make up only about 1.6 percent of the population of more that 170 million. As members of such a tiny minority, they live in perpetual fear not only of Islamist terrorists but also of Pakistan's draconian blasphemy laws. There is, for example, the notorious case of a Christian woman who was sentenced to death for allegedly insulting the Prophet Muhammad. When international pressure persuaded Punjab Gov. Salman Taseer to explore ways of freeing her, he was killed by his bodyguard. The bodyguard was then celebrated by prominent Muslim clerics as a hero -- and though he was sentenced to death late last year, the judge who imposed the sentence now lives in hiding, fearing for his life.

Such cases are not unusual in Pakistan. The nation's blasphemy laws are routinely used by criminals and intolerant Pakistani Muslims to bully religious minorities. Simply to declare belief in the Christian Trinity is considered blasphemous, since it contradicts mainstream Muslim theological doctrines. When a Christian group is suspected of transgressing the blasphemy laws, the consequences can be brutal. Just ask the members of the Christian aid group World Vision. Its offices were attacked in the spring of 2010 by 10 gunmen armed with grenades, leaving six people dead and four wounded. A militant Muslim group claimed responsibility for the attack on the grounds that World Vision was working to subvert Islam. (In fact, it was helping the survivors of a major earthquake.)

Not even Indonesia -- often touted as the world's most tolerant, democratic, and modern majority-Muslim nation -- has been immune to the fevers of Christophobia. According to data compiled by the Christian Post, the number of violent incidents committed against religious minorities (and at 7 percent of the population, Christians are the country's largest minority) increased by nearly 40 percent, from 198 to 276, between 2010 and 2011.

The litany of suffering could be extended. In Iran dozens of Christians have been arrested and jailed for daring to worship outside of the officially sanctioned church system. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, deserves to be placed in a category of its own. Despite the fact that more than a million Christians live in the country as foreign workers, churches and even private acts of Christian prayer are banned; to enforce these totalitarian restrictions, the religious police regularly raid the homes of Christians and bring them up on charges of blasphemy in courts where their testimony carries less legal weight than a Muslim's. Even in Ethiopia, where Christians make up a majority of the population, church burnings by members of the Muslim minority have become a problem.

It should be clear from this catalog of atrocities that anti-Christian violence is a major and underreported problem. No, the violence isn't centrally planned or coordinated by some international Islamist agency. In that sense the global war on Christians isn't a traditional war at all. It is, rather, a spontaneous expression of anti-Christian animus by Muslims that transcends cultures, regions, and ethnicities.

As Nina Shea, director of the Hudson Institute's Center for Religious Freedom, pointed out in an interview with Newsweek, Christian minorities in may majority-Muslim nations have "lost the protection of their societies." This is especially so in countries with growing radical Islamist (Salafist) movements. In those nations, vigilantes often feel they can act with impunity -- and government inaction often proves them rights. The old idea of the Ottoman Turks -- that non-Muslims in Muslim societies deserve protection (albeit as second-class citizens) -- has all but vanished from wide swaths of the Islamic world, and increasingly the result is bloodshed and oppression.

So let us please get our priorities straight. Yes, Western governments should protect Muslim minorities from intolerance. And of course we should ensure that they can worship, live, and work freely and without fear. It is the protection of the freedom of conscience and speech that distinguishes free societies from unfree ones. But we also need to keep perspective about the scale and severity of intolerance. Cartoons, films, and writings are one thing; knives, guns, and grenades are something else entirely.

As for what the West can do to help religious minorities in Muslim-majority societies, my answer is that it needs to begin using the billions of dollars in aid it gives to the offending countries as leverage. Then there is trade and investment. Besides diplomatic pressure, these aid and trade relationships can and should be made conditional on the protection of the freedom of conscience and worship for all citizens.

Instead of falling for overblown tales of Western Islamophobia, let's take a real stand against the Christophobia infecting the Muslim world. Tolerance is for everyone -- except the intolerant.

George Soros said that it is no problem to destroy a country's currency but complained about it being hard to destroy a country's soveignty. That was especially true before the indoctrination of young people about America being just another country. The Progressives who believe that the people are NOT capable of handling their own lives and want to guide the peons in how to live their life are now making a move to cede American soveignty. Sounds ANTI-AMERICAN to me - like having a Supreme Court Justice who instructs other countries not to emulate the U.S. Constitution. NASA specialist says he was axed over intelligent design

A former computer specialist who claims he was demoted -- and then let go -- for promoting his views on intelligent design, the belief that a higher power must have had a hand in creation because life is too complex to have developed through evolution alone.

He was discriminated against because he engaged his co-workers in conversations about intelligent design.

The Alliance Defense Fund, a Christian civil rights group, and the Discovery Institute, a proponent of intelligent design, are both supporting Coppedge's case.

There is basically a war on anyone who dissents from Darwin.

The National Center for Science Education, which rejects intelligent design as thinly veiled creationism, is also watching the case.

In the lawsuit, Coppedge says he believes other things also led to his demotion, including his support for a state ballot measure that sought to define marriage as limited to heterosexual couples and his request to rename the annual holiday party a "Christmas party."

"David had this reputation for being a Christian, for being a practicing one," said Coppedge's attorney, William Becker.

"The question is whether the plaintiff was fired simply because he was wasting people's time and bothering them in ways that would have led him to being fired regardless of whether it was about religion or whether he was treated worse based on the religiosity of his beliefs," said Volokh. "If he can show that, then he's got a good case."

Supreme Court rules it as unconstitutional and in violation of the First Amendment.

The government should not be required "to tear down a cross that has stood without incident for 58 years as a highly venerated memorial to the nation's fallen service members," Solicitor General Donald Verrilli Jr. said in a new appeal to the high court.

I firmly believe the ruling of "Separation of church and state" is unConstitutional. Nowhere in the Constitution, Bill of Rights or Amendments is that phrase mentioned. It was originally proposed in a letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists.

Danbury Baptists wrote to Jefferson - Nov.7, 1801 - They were concerned that "free exercise of religion" appeared in the First Amendment. To them, this implied the government had the power to regulate religious expression. They believed that freedom of religion was a God-granted, unalienable right, and that the government should be powerless to restrict religious activities unless those activities caused someone to "work ill to his neighbor."

Jefferson's response - Jan.1,1802: "The free exercise of religion was an unalienable right and not be meddled with by the government. The First Amendment has erected a wall of separation between church and state."

The intent of Jefferson's letter was to keep government out of religion, not religion out of government. Jefferson's letter is quoted out-of-context today without regard to its original intent.

Why doesn't the Supreme Court follow its own imposed ruling of "Separatation of church and state" and keep out of the domain of church? Government is constantly trying to remove religion and the free expression of religious beliefs. The Supreme Court's ruling is unConstitutional and restricts our 1st Amendment Right.

Democrats Remove Any Mention of God From DNC Platform

Democrats have removed any mention of God from their party platform, dropping language from the 2008 version that at least had a passing reference to the Creator whom the founders of the nation explained grants the rights we enjoy.

Eagle-eyed reported David Brody of CBN News discovered the omission.

“Guess what? God’s name has been removed from the Democratic National Committee platform,” he writes. “The Brody File has calls into DNC to explain why God’s name has been dropped from the platform. Some critics will suggest that when you have planks in your platform that support abortion rights and gay marriage then it’s no wonder that God’s name would be dropped as well.”

      This is the paragraph that was in the 2008 platform:

      “We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”

      Now the words “God-given” have been removed. The paragraph has been restructured to say this:

      “We gather to reclaim the basic bargain that built the largest middle class and the most prosperous nation on Earth – the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us.”

Thomas Peters of CatholicVote also noticed Brody’s report on the change and responded:

“Yet another step in the secularizing evolution of modern progressivism,” he said. “You can see the draft of the 2012 DNC platform here and, sure enough, there is no mention of “God” anywhere in it. The 2012 GOP platform, meanwhile, mentions “God” 12 times, including in this Preamble (penned by Catholic Chairman Gov. Bob McDonnell):

      “…Reaffirm that our rights come from God, are protected by government, and that the only just government is one that truly governs with the consent of the governed…”

      “…May God continue to shed his grace on the United States of America.”

Peters concludes: “Now that’s quite a contrast. What does it say when a national party refuses to even mention God once in its platform? I think it says a lot. And I’m curious what liberal Catholics have to say about the DNC’s choice to eliminate the last remaining vestige of God’s name from their platform this year.”

Catholic Propaganda Video To Be Shown Soon in Churches

The Catholic Church may begin circulating a video urging followers to vote against marriage equality, abortion rights, and health care policy.

A video shows a blacksmith forging "plans," so to speak, for the economy and jobs, but the video asks, whether all that building will be done in vain.

"Catholics across the nation will be put to the test," the spot says. A moment later, graphic text reads, "Marriage should be reinforced, not redefined...Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity."

The video then asks, "Will you value the votes that will stand the test of fire?" next to the blacksmith's metal sculptures of the words "marriage," "life," and "freedom."

According to a reader with administrative ties to the church, the video, which was made public in March, will be soon circulated and shown to parishioners and Catholic groups.

The video was ordered by the nonprofit group, Catholics Called to Witness, and produced by a company called Creative Lab, which has done other videos about conservative parental rights being taken away, and another in 2010 for Value Voters USA.

Separation of church and state is a myth. This phrase is found nowhere in the Constitution, Bill of Rights or Amendments.
1st Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
This amendment was to keep government out of religion, not religion out of government. Founding father, John Adams, said, "Our Constitution is made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." America was founded upon Christian principles, values, morality and ethics. I believe the original intent of our founding fathers was inspired by God. To believe differently is to be un-American by definition of our original intent.

Billy Graham places ads in several newspapers
including the Wall Street Journal

In October 2012, 93-year old Christian evangelist Billy Graham placed full-page advertisements in several U.S. Newspapers, including the Columbus Dispatch, the Wall Street Journal, and USA Today, regarding the upcoming 2012 elections. The ads featured a black-and-white photograph of the Rev. Billy Graham holding a Bible and included text urging readers to vote for candidates who "protect the sanctity of life" and "suport the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman."

"The legacy we leave behind for our children, grandchildren, and this great nation is crucial. As I approach my 94th birthday, I realize this election could be my last. I believe it is vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel. I urge you to vote for those who protect the sanctity of life and support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman. Vote for biblical values this November 6, and pray with me that America will remain one nation under God."

Although the ads mentioned no candidate by name, they were widely perceived as tactit endorsement of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who had a meeting with Graham earlier that month.

Atheism is to Religion as Ignorance is to Education. We are born without knowledge of life. To remain ignorant without extending our understanding of the universe keeps us blind. Why would anyone discount the quest of understanding?

There are thrity-three books that claim to be inspired by god; they all seek to further our understanding of Life. Each book attempts to define the importance of Life and what happens after death. "The Real Face of Jesus" follows a team of graphic experts as they use cutting-edge 3D software to bring a holy relic known as the Shroud of Turin to life.

What did Jesus look like? Artists, scholars and millions of Christians around the world have been pondering the question for centuries. And on Tuesday, March 30, at 9/8c, HISTORY viewers may get closer to an answer than ever before, thanks to a special two-hour event.

The Real Face of Jesus? follows a team of graphic experts as they use cutting-edge 3D software to bring a holy relic known as the Shroud of Turin to life. Many believe Jesus Christ was buried in this ancient linen cloth, which bears traces of blood and the faint, ghostly image of a man. With the help of modern technology, can HISTORY finally unlock the secrets of one of the world’s most scrutinized and controversial artifacts?

To attempt this feat, HISTORY turned to computer graphics artist Ray Downing of Studio Macbeth, who used photographs and digital animation to reconstruct Abraham Lincoln in 2009. As Ray and his team grapple with the task, we delve into the Shroud of Turin’s long history, along with the many perplexing questions that centuries of scientific research have failed to settle. How, for instance, did the figure’s imprint appear on the cloth? And how can we extract 3D information from a two-dimensional piece of linen?

In The Real Face of Jesus?, HISTORY unveils the fruit of many months of labor, made possible by sophisticated computer tools in very capable hands: an accurate depiction of the man many believe to be Jesus Christ. For the devout and curious alike, this is a compelling story of transformation—a fascinating journey from the realm of creativity and imagination into the domain of science and technology.

Kate Smith Sings "God Bless America"

"God Bless America" is an American patriotic song written by Irving Berlin in 1918 and revised by him in 1938. The later version has notably been recorded by Kate Smith, becoming her signature song.

In 1938, with the rise of Adolf Hitler, Irving Berlin, who was Jewish and a first-generation European immigrant, felt it was time to revive it as a "peace song," and it was introduced on an Armistice Day broadcast in 1938, sung by Kate Smith on her radio show.

"God Bless America" takes the form of a prayer (intro lyrics "as we raise our voices, in a solemn prayer") for God's blessing and peace for the nation ("Stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above").

If you watched sports in the 1970s you know she sang God Bless America at Philadelphia Flyers Stanley Cup championship games and was considered the Flyers' good luck charm.

Frank Sinatra considered Kate Smith the best singer of her time, and said that when he and a million other guys first heard her sing "God Bless America" on the radio, they all pretended to have dust in their eyes as they wiped away a tear or two.

Here are the facts...

The link at the bottom will take you to a video showing the very first public singing of "GOD BLESS AMERICA". But before you watch it, you should also know the story behind the first public showing of the song.

The time was 1940. America was still in a terrible economic depression. Hitler was taking over Europe and Americans were afraid we'd have to go to war. It was a time of hardship and worry for most Americans.

This was the era just before TV, when radio shows were HUGE, and American families sat around their radios in the evenings, listening to their favorite entertainers, and no entertainer of that era was bigger than Kate Smith.

Kate was also large; plus size, as we now say, and the popular phrase still used today is in deference to her, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings". Kate Smith might not have made it big in the age of TV, but with her voice coming over the radio, she was the biggest star of her time.

Kate was also patriotic. It hurt her to see Americans so depressed and afraid of what the next day would bring. She had hope for America, and faith in her fellow Americans. She wanted to do something to cheer them up, so she went to the famous American song-writer, Irving Berlin (who also wrote "White Christmas") and asked him to write a song that would make Americans feel good again about their country. When she described what she was looking for, he said he had just the song for her.

He went to his files and found a song that he had written, but never published, 22 years before - way back in 1917. He gave it to her and she worked on it with her studio orchestra. She and Irving Berlin were not sure how the song would be received by the public, but both agreed they would not take any profits from God Bless America. Any profits would go to the Boy Scouts of America. Over the years, the Boy Scouts have received millions of dollars in royalties from this song.

This video starts out with Kate Smith coming into the radio studio with the orchestra and an audience. She introduces the new song for the very first time, and starts singing. After the first couple verses, with her voice in the background still singing, scenes are shown from the 1940 movie, "You're In The Army Now." At the 4:20 mark of the video you see a young actor in the movie, sitting in an office, reading an issue of Variety; it's Ronald Reagan.

To this day, God Bless America stirs our patriotic feelings and pride in our country. Back in 1940, when Kate Smith went looking for a song to raise the spirits of her fellow Americans, I doubt whether she realized just how successful the results would be for her fellow Americans during those years of hardship and worry..... and for many generations of Americans to follow. Now that you know the story of the song, I hope you'll enjoy it and treasure it even more.

Many people don't know there's a lead in to the song since it usually starts with "God Bless America....." So here's the entire song as originally sung.

I couldn't help but tear up while listening to Kate Smith sing, "God Bless America." Our nation is currently bombarded with news stories about government scandals. It's good to remember a time when Americans stood tall and led this country from under the burden of depression. Another great American Song Writer Patriot was George M. Cohan. James Cagney starred in "Yankee Doodle Dandy" which was the story of Cohan's life.
